Edit or make

The Edit tools change a picture you already have and give it back in the same format unless you ask otherwise: smaller, a different size or shape, turned the right way up, with a border, a watermark or the background gone. The Make tools produce something new from an image: a set of favicons, a data URI for code, a palette of hex colours, a single image from several, a QR code or the text a picture contains.

What stays on your device

Everything. The tools are programs that run inside this page, so the photo never travels. That matters more for pictures than for most files: phone photos carry the location they were taken, screenshots carry whatever was on the screen and scans carry signatures and account numbers. You can check it by opening your browser's network panel while a tool works or by going offline once the page has loaded and carrying on.

Formats

The tools read JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, GIF, BMP and SVG and write JPG, PNG and WebP, plus ICO for icons. AVIF and HEIC can be read but not written, because browsers can’t encode them. The image converter lists every conversion with its own page.

Common questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Every image tool on this site runs in your browser. The picture is read from your device, changed in memory and handed back as a download. That includes the heavier tools, background removal and image to text, whose models download to your browser and run there instead of sending your photo to a server.

Will editing an image reduce its quality?

Any tool that saves a JPG or WebP re-compresses it, which costs a little quality each time. At the default settings the loss isn’t visible. Tools that don’t need to re-encode, such as removing EXIF data, rewrite the file container and leave the image data untouched.

Do the tools work with iPhone HEIC photos?

Yes. Every image tool reads HEIC, decoding it in your browser and saves the result as JPG, PNG or WebP, since no browser can write HEIC.

Can I process several images at once?

The compressor, resizer, converter, rotator, border and watermark tools all take a batch and give you a zip. Crop, redaction and background removal work one image at a time, because each needs a decision about that particular picture.

Is there a watermark or a limit?

No watermark, no sign-up and no daily limit. The only limit is your device’s memory, which in practice means very large panoramas on an older phone.
