Three ways to make your signature
Draw it with a mouse, trackpad or finger. On a phone or tablet this is the most natural and a stylus gives the closest match to a pen signature. Typeyour name and pick a style, which is quick and perfectly acceptable for most forms.Upload a photo of your signature on white paper; the paper is removed automatically, leaving only the ink, which gives the most authentic result.
Placing it neatly
Drag the signature onto the line and use the size slider to match the space. Arrow keys nudge a selected signature, Shift moves it further and Delete removes it. The page is shown as it will print, so a signature lined up on screen lands in the same place in the file.
What changes in the PDF
The signature is added as an image on top of the page. The rest of the document is untouched: text stays selectable, form fields keep their values and the file grows only by the size of the signature image. If you also need a date, type it with the Type option and place it the same way. To stop anyone lifting the signature back out, convert the signed file withPDF to JPG and rebuild it with Image to PDF, at the cost of searchable text.
Common questions
Is a signature added this way legally valid?
In many countries, an electronic signature like this is accepted for everyday agreements, such as leases, consent forms and supplier contracts, because the law cares about intent to sign rather than ink. Some documents, such as wills, deeds and certain government forms, have stricter requirements. If in doubt, ask whoever asked for the signature. This is general information, not legal advice.
Is this a digital signature?
No. A digital signature, in the technical sense, uses a certificate to prove who signed and that nothing changed afterwards and it shows as a verified signature panel in PDF readers. This tool places an image of your signature on the page, which is what most people mean when they’re asked to sign and return a PDF.
Do I need to create an account?
No account, no email address and no upload. Most signing services need all three because the document passes through their servers. Here it never leaves your device, which matters for contracts and anything with personal details on it.
Can I sign more than one page?
Yes. Move to any page and place your signature again, as many times as you need, for example initials on every page and a full signature at the end. Each placement can be moved and resized independently.
Is my signature saved anywhere?
No. It exists only in this browser tab while you use it and it is gone when you close the page. Nothing is stored on this device or on a server.
